I bow down to Valmiki who is a cuckoo and who climbs over a poetic tree and cooing 
"Rama! Rama! in a sweet melodious tone _ "'O the messenger Of Rama! O Hanuman! O Accomplisher 
Of un-accomlishable! Tell me, what is there for you that cannot be achieved? O Ocean Of 
Compassion! Grace me to accomplish my work.

Introduction 
Hanuma sees the denizens of city of Lanka rendered beautiful by the glorious 
moon, Hanuman also become anxious that he had not become to able to find Seetha.

What ever splendour shines over Mount Mandara on earth, on the ocean 
during evenings, over the lotuses in the waters, the same splendour shone on the 
beautiful moon. 
Gk: The same splendour which is visible on Mount Mandara on earth, which 
plays during evening on the sea and which rests on a lotus in the waters, shone 
forth in the delightful moon-3.

In whatever way a lion obtaining a level surfaced rock (shines), in whatever 
way best elephant obtaining a great battle(shines), in whatever way a king obtaining 
kingdom(shines), in the same way the clear moon shone

Gk: The glorious evening, the evil attaching to which (in the form of darkness) 
has been dispelled by the appearance of the bright moon, (nay) whose (other) sins, 
in the form Of flesh-eating by ogres has been intensified, and in which the 
bitterness of mind (caused by unwilling love) of young women and their lovers is 
wiped away, scattered bliss-8.

moral character are sleeping with their husbands; further, rangers Of the night too 
and violent behaviour have likewise started sporting themselves -9

in heat/ arrogant & untoxicated, houses filled with people, full chariots, horses, 
elephants and best furniture and also full of wealth. 
Gk: The sagacious monkey, Hanumän, beheld (there) mansions of arrogant and 
intoxicated ogres connected together (further) crowded with chariots, horses and 
seats Of gold and also full Of fortune enjoyed by heroes.-lO.

richness) and (even) threw about their stout arms too (in a bellicose spirit), uttered 
wild and incoherent words and insulted one another.-ll

(Hanuman saw) rakshasas who smote(inflict heavy blow) breast, those who

Gk: Nay, the ogres smote their breasts (as a form of exercise) and (lovingly) 
placed their (hands and other) limbs on (the person Of) their dear ones. They also 
put on various garbs (to please their wives) and drew their strong bows (by way of

women; varaarhaaH those who were eligible for distinction; mahaanubaaH those who were Of

Hanuman saw thereafter there, their women - those who were eligible for 
distinction, those who were of great skill with an interested heart in lovers and in 
drinks and those who were like stars with good effect.

hen which did not dance in a forest because of Her current sorrow.
